When it comes to spelling, punctuation, grammar and consistency, I care a lot. I’ll identify and fix any problems I can. When you work with me, you can be sure that I’ll put in 110% effort. I love to provide value, and I take pride in making a real difference. I’m a perfectionist, which is exactly what an editor should be.

I have undertaken training with industry bodies and passed an assessment with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, so you can trust in my abilities.

People often say that to be a good writer and editor, you need to read. I think that’s true. I’ve always been an avid reader, so I guess something just clicked from an early age. I devoured books in my childhood – Harry Potter and His Dark Materials were firm favourites. Nowadays, fantasy continues to be my favourite genre, and I love historical fiction.

But it’s not just fiction you’ll find on my Kindle. I also like to read non-fiction. That, and my academic background, mean I’m well-prepared to help authors with their non-fiction manuscripts.

After I graduated with a degree in English literature and Spanish, I began working in the charity sector in a direct marketing team where I channelled my love of words into the development of high-performing fundraising campaigns.

A significant aspect of my role was writing, and I had to edit and proofread both my own writing and that of agency copywriters. Attention to detail was critical, and perfection was expected. This experience, along with some dedicated grammar training, gave me the technical and practical knowledge to be able to offer freelance editorial services.

In 2019, I left my direct marketing role in London to travel. That adventure came to a premature end as borders began to close. However, the eye-opening experience of travel inspired me to look at life – and work – a little differently.

I received some training and gradually began building a network of clients. Since I set up Click Copyediting in March 2020, I have worked for startups and industry titans in various sectors, collaborated with experts in different subject areas to produce accurate, helpful texts, and edited numerous non-fiction books.

I’m a digital nomad. I run my business from all over the world, which enables me to adopt an open mind and offer a fresh perspective. My approach is to ensure clarity, accuracy and grammatical correctness while preserving the author’s voice in a way that’s fair and free from bias.
